Phyllis Knox Stamper, age 71, of Stanton, KY passed away at Clark Regional Medical Center, Winchester, KY on Friday, February 13, 2015. Born in Pinetop, KY she was the daughter of the late Verlin and Azanna Short Slone. She was a former factory employee of Continental Metal Specialty and a member of Mountain Parkway Church of God. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Stamper; five brothers: John C. Slone, Talmadge Slone, Arnold Slone, Jackie Slone and Ruby Slone and by one sister, Catherine Slone. She is survived by two sons: Raymond Knox of Stanton, KY and John Steven (Dovie) Knox of Clay City, KY; three daughters: Charlene Knox of Lexington, KY, Rebecca (Shane) Nolan of Clay City, KY and Amy (Clint) Claypoole of Canton, GA; two brothers: Tom Slone of Lawrenceburg, IN and Bordes (Barb) Slone of Hindman, KY; two sisters: Lydia Slone of Whitesburg, KY and Minnie Perkins of Hindman, KY and nine grandchildren: Zachary Knox, Kaleb Knox, Logan Claypoole, Bailey Claypoole, Cory Nolan, Morgan Nolan, Landon Nolan, Kolbi Nolan and Olivia Nolan. Visitation begins at 5:00 P.M. and funeral services officiated by Bro. Dale Payne will be held at 6:00 P.M. Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Interment will be in Stonegate Cemetery. Arrangements by Hearne Funeral Home, Inc.
