to this country at the age of 19 years and lived in Bountiful until she married Henry Tingey, June 7, 1862. Moved to Brigham in the spring of 1881 where she has resided until her death. She was the mother of eleven child, six girls and five boys. One son died when about two years old. All of her children are married but one. She was the grand mother to 50 children, 44 living, and 2 great grandchildren. She was a kind, loving mother, never complaining but always cheerful and always had a welcome for any one in need. She has been a sufferer for about 15 years but bore it with patience.
On the 11th of February,1908, she underwent an operation for a tumor and was getting along nicely when her trouble overtook her again but her body could not withstand the disease and she passed away Monday, August 2 1909 at 11:45 surrounded by most of her children.
She raised 5 children for her husbands first wife and has seven brothers and one sister living. Six of her brothers and the sister attended the funeral, the other brother is in the missionary field.
