Jesse Wayne Johnson died suddenly on October 27, 1979 in Newport, NH. He was born in Hanover, NH on March 5, 1952; the son of Leonard O Johnson and Natalie (Shaw) Gardner.

He had been a lifelong resident of the Newport area. He attended schools in Unity and Newport and was a graduate of Newport High School, Class of 1970.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife Janet (Howe) Johnson of Newport; one daughter Amy Johnson of Newport; one son Daniel Johnson of Goshen; his mother and stepfather Natalie and Russell Gardner of Goshen; his maternal grandparents Mr and Mrs Wesley Shaw of Newport; one sister Nancy Ash of Newport; three stepbrothers John Gardner of Franklin, NH, Keith Gardner of Newport and Rodney Gardner of Colebrook, NH; two stepsisters Caprice Chapman of White River Jct, VT and Lynette Gardner of Newport; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Burial is in Pine Grove cemetery.
