Alice Catherine, has slip by through the census after her marriage in 1868. Her children as time went by, we're staying at their grand parents. This would had been her parents. The 1880 and 1900 census shows this if one is to tract them. According to her daughter Anna Demaree, she states on the back of one these photos that her mother died at the breakfast table at age 54, Her husband according to her children seen to be at odds with his name. We have a John and James H. Demaree. Anna had written down on the back of her mothers picture this line, ? & Alice. This as you can see, she too was not certain. My research was looked up in FamilySearch. Org . Maybe as time goes more info may amerge.
Alice, according to Kentucky Death records shows her death year as 1912, but had a last name of Hilger which her daughter (Anna)knew, for Anna put down on a Life Insurance Policy as Beneficiary and Relationship as Mother in April 14 1913. So Anna did not know her mother passed away in that year. Then Alice married again in 1898 to Henry J Hilger in Dec. 24. in Clarksville, Clark Co. Indiana, but her name here is spelled Alcy. So if you want to find her in Familsearch.org type down ALCY Demaree. then we have to ask why she was living in Clarksville ? Could this be the town that her first husband lived and died ? To trace her for 1910 census, you will need to type in BOARDER ALISE HILGER. For some reason the census taker had written down the word first of Boarder, she was a boarder at the home of George & Alma Jetter then. Please click on any photos for info on any photo you see at any site you come to. Alcey grave no. 24 , range 262, section 8. Some of this info comes from Anna's diary.
