Died aged 72 years, so evidently born about 1786. Died "near this city," presumably at Hillhouse, located at Wildwood.

Said to have been born 12 DEC 1784 in Vermont and to have married 20 APR 1807 in Washington, Wilkes County, Georgia, to Andrew SHEPHERD, Jr. (08 OCT 1775 Orange Co, VA-1828 Wilkes Co, GA).

Mary HILLHOUSE, daughter of David HILLHOUSE and Sarah PORTER, married April 20, 1807 in Wilkes County, GA, to Andrew SHEPHERD, a wealthy planter of Wilkes County, Georgia. He died about 1830. She died April 26, 1856. Their children were: Albert H. SHEPHERD (born May 28, 1808), married Anne E. SMITH; Edward T. SHEPHERD (born April, 1810), married Eliza T. WINN; Mary F. SHEPHERD (born 1812), married Locke WEEMS; Charlotte W. SHEPHERD (born 1815), married John W. BAKER; Alexander SHEPHERD (born 1818); Caroline SHEPHERD (born 1820), married A. J. HANSELL.
