Mrs. Edith Mae White 54, of 231 State St. died at 8:45 p.m. Friday of a heart ailment.
She was born Edith Mae Burkes on Jan 5, 1900, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Burkes.
She was married to Arthur Busby. They were later divorced. Two children were born to this marriage, Warren Busby, 1433 Wright St., who survives, and one daughter, Louise, who preceded her in death. On Jan. 27, 1933 she married Benjamin White at Rock Island, IL. He died in 1947. surviving besides the son Warren are three sisters, Mrs. Gilbert Gibson, 724 VintonSt., Mr. Ben Mckeag of Montezuma, Ia and Mrs. James Asa, Portland Ore.
Mrs. White was a member of the auxiallary of the Disabled American Veterans and of the auxilary of the American Legion. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Linden Methodist Church with the Rev. John R. Kirby, officating, the body will be taken to the church from Block Funeral Home shortly before the services. There will be rites conducted by Disabled American Veterans. Burial will be in the Midwest Garden of Memories.
