Maria Sidaras Duncan age 75 of Chattanooga, Tennessee went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday – February 12, 2015.

Maria was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico to the late Juan & Serafina Olmo Diaz. She devoted her life to her family and to working with children and youth in ministry. She was a resident of Miami, FL for thirty years where she provided loving childcare for many youngsters and later was a receptionist at Northwest Christian Academy in Miami, FL. She served many years as a Sunday School Teacher at Northwest Baptist Church. She was a twenty year resident of LaFayette, GA where she had another childcare home ministry before becoming a substitute Spanish teacher at LaFayette High School. She was also a member of Second Baptist Church. She then resided with her daughter's family for ten years in Rome, GA, where she was a member first of West Rome Baptist Church and later Pleasant Valley South Baptist.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: F. Benson "Bud" Duncan and sister: Delia Diaz.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 12 noon until 3:00 pm at Wilson Funeral Home in LaFayette, GA. Funeral service will be at 3:00 pm – Sunday – February 15, 2015 in the chapel of Wilson Funeral Home with Reverend Philip May presiding. Burial will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Park.
