Eric passed away unexpectedly at his home Tuesday, February 10, 2015, age 37 years. The son of Eugene E. and Jodi A. (Ciesielski) Elder, Sr. He was born January 9, 1978 in Bay City and has lived here all of his life. Eric was formerly employed with Ziebart and Jack’s Fruit Markets. He was a huge Detroit Lions fan and enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, being outdoors, riding four wheelers and cooking. Eric enjoyed cooking so much he received a Culinary Art Degree and often shared his food hot off the grill with family and friends. All who knew Eric loved his compassionate, caring and loving heart.

Surviving is his father, Eugene E. Elder, Sr., one brother, Gene E. (Wendy) Elder, Jr., niece and nephew, Rebecca and Brandon Elder, close “brother” Chris Herbert and his daughter, Errissa Herbert, Grandpa Joe, uncles, Leonard Ciesielski and Jim (Sherry) Proderut, Eric’s girlfriend, Lauren Brown, numerous cousins, friends and his pit-bull, Ele. Eric was predeceased by his mother, Jodi Elder, one brother, Brett Elder, Grandma Nancy, grandpa and grandma, Carl and Clara Mae Elder and an aunt, Diane Ciesielski.

The Funeral Service will be held Friday, February 20, 2015 at 3:00pm at the Ambrose Funeral Home. Linda Studniarz will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 noon until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to “family wishes.”
