Ira Clifton Sowash (Cliff) was born December 22, 1891 in Creston, Iowa to Frank Sowash and Laura Z (Doan) Sowash. He attended public school in both Lucas and Clark Counties, Iowa. About three years following graduation from Osceola High School he married Ms Cecil Anderson in Osceola on September 27, 1912. He worked as a "bill poster - front man" for the Clyde Beatty Circus for many years. He and his wife had three children: Dorothy, Mildred and Cliff Jr. In the 1930's he and his wife divorced. After his circus career of constant travel, he returned home to Osceola and retired. Cliff was a gentle. warm and soft spoken gentleman, well loved by his family friends. He died too early at 64 years old in 1956. May peace be with him always.
