From the Saturday, June 09, 2001 edition of the Augusta Chronicle - Major General John C.F. Tillson III, died on Wednesday, June 6 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today, June 9 at Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Doctor G. Dan McCall, Minister Emeritus, and Rev. Sidney Austin Gates officiating. Interment will follow with full military honors at Westover Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Reid Memorial Presbyterian church, 2261 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30904. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Augusta Rotary Club and are requested to assemble at the church at 9:30 a.m. Platts Funeral Home, 721 Crawford Ave., Augusta, GA.
