STAUNTON, VA…

Roy Leon Berry, 67, husband of Sherri (Biby) Berry, of 715 Carann Street, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 11, 2015, in Envoy of Staunton.

He was born April 15, 1947, in Augusta County, a son of the late Hugh and Mary Lee Curry (Huffer) Berry.

Mr. Berry was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in Korea during the Vietnam War.

Prior to retirement, Mr. Berry was employed by DuPont with 34 years of service.

In addition to his wife, family members include a son, Wayne Berry and his partner, Tom Rigg, of Waynesboro; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and Matthew Ladd and Minette and Daniel Claxton, all of Staunton; a step brother, Tommy Curry; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Judy and Gary Botkin of Augusta County, Katherine and Jim Beam of Staunton, Linda and Nick Goins of Staunton, Nancy Curry and her wife, Debbie Hargus, of Roanoke, and Aida Leitch of Staunton; three grandchildren, Noah and Avery Claxton and MacKenzie Ladd; a special niece, Brandy Clark of Staunton; his mother-in-law, Lucille Biby of Staunton; and a brother-in-law, Scott Biby of Staunton.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, February 16, 2015, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Edward Rigg. Burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Augusta Staunton VFW Post 2216.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, February 15, 2015, in the funeral home and other times at the residence.
