Jeffrey “Keith” Crawford, age 47, passed away February 5, 2015 after a long battle with asthma and COPD.

Keith was born March 10, 1967 and raised in Weaverville, moving to Raleigh after college. He was a 1985 graduate of North Buncombe High School and graduated from East Carolina University in 1989 with a degree in business.

Keith is survived by two beautiful daughters, Carlee and Chloe Crawford, and their mother, Tammie Schwab of Raleigh. He is also survived by his father and step-mother, Carlie and Coleen Crawford of Weaverville and his mother Carolyn Stewart Crawford of Raleigh. He also leaves behind a sister and brother-in-law Shelly Bohner and Commander Christopher Bohner, and their children Emily and Ryan, all of St. Mary’s, GA; step-brothers Scott Whitt and wife Michelle and their children Tyler and Maddie of Valrico, FL and Kevin Whitt and wife Jennifer and their children Kyle and Sarah of Acworth, GA. Also he is survived by his maternal grandmother Christine Stewart and Uncle Ron Stewart of Davenport, FL, and Aunt Alicia Stewart of Knoxville, TN. Surviving paternal aunts and uncles include: Willie Crawford, Lee Fisher, Faye and Loyce Bryant, Leonard and Louella Crawford, Shirley Bryant, Burlan and Arlene Crawford, Alice and Howard Jamison, Colene and Alton Higgins and special Uncle Steve and Linda Crawford, all from Buncombe County. He is also survived by life-long friends Tim Ballard and Scott Garrison, who were more like brothers than friends.

He was preceded in death by his Aunt Marsha Rogers.

Keith was a loving father to his daughters and a friend in the truest sense of the word to those he held dear. He enjoyed the benefits of self-employment by spending every spare moment with his children and family. Keith enjoyed fishing, playing pool, watching movies and writing poetry in his free time.

His memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 21, 2015 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home. Reverend Jerry Shelton will officiate. Burial will follow at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, Asheville.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 pm prior to the service.

There will also be a celebration of Keith’s life at 7:00 pm, Saturday, February 21st at his father’s house in Weaverville.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, NC 28787 to assist the family.
