Lorraine Elsie Sorenson was born Feb. 7, 1926, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of Roy C. and Thelma (Nordquist) Sorenson.
She graduated in 1944 from West High School and from the University of Minnesota as a Dietitian in 1948. She then interned at Hines General Hospital in Chicago. On Aug. 20, 1949, she was married to Clyde E. Grant of Owatonna. She became the dietitian at the Owatonna State School.
