Edward was born and raised in during the Great Depression. He was a graduate of Pasco High School, and joined the Army to fight in World War II, receiving a Bronze Star for heroic action above the call of duty, as well as several Purple Hearts.
He married Edna Sullivan after returning home in 1946. They had 4 children: Robert (deceased, 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Edward was a retired electrician.
A visitation will be held at Hodges Family Funeral Home 5th Street chapel in Dade City on February 3rd, from 2:00-2:30, and a funeral service will be held at 2:30. Military honors and committal will follow at Emmaus cemetery in San Antonio, FL.
