Dean S. “Hoss” Boyer, 84, of Middletown, died at 4:58 p.m. Tuesday (Feb. 10, 2015) at his home.
Dean was born Aug. 30, 1930 in Rural Logan County, Illinois, the son of Ted and Hazel Taylor Boyer. He married Barbara Ann Sublett on June 19, 1955 in Middletown. She preceded him in death on Jan. 1, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kenneth.
He is survived by one son, Gary Boyer; one daughter, Sandra Mayer; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Pete (Beverly) Boyer and Earl (Anne) Boyer and one sister, Joyce Horney.
Dean was a farmer for 65 years in the Middletown area. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
