Mr. Takach died Saturday, August 11, 2007. Born in Columbia, he was a son of Eleanor Hollis Takach and the late John Joseph Takach, Sr.
He was a graduate of Cardinal Newman High School where he served four years on Student Council, was president of the student body, served as Boys State Representative, was a member of the National Honor Society and a National Merit Scholar. He also played basketball and baseball and was captain of the football team. A magna cum laude graduate of USC, he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was employed with Electrical Design Consultants and Stevens and Wilkinson of South Carolina and retired from the Office of State Engineer. He was a member of the Professional Engineers Institute.
He was predeceased by brothers, John J. Takach, Jr. and Robert Brian �Bob� Takach; and niece, Savannah Lee Takach.
