Mr. Bobby W. Poole, 80, of the Charlotteville Community, died Nov. 16, 2013 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness. He was a native of Uvalda, a 1951 graduate of Montgomery Co. High School and US Marine veteran. He lived in Blakely and retired after 40 years in the pulp and paper industry, and owned and operated Poole's Grocery. He returned home in 1996 and was a member of the Charlotte United Methodist Church. He was an avid gardener, hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by daughter, Julie Renee Poole; parents, A.C. and Lacy Poole; and brother, Alvin Cluese Poole, Jr. Mr. Poole is survived by son, Alan Keith Poole of Blakely; daughters, Cindia Poole Dubravcic of Leesburg and Rhonda Poole Sasser of Marietta; brothers, Llewlyn "Hank" Poole of Columbia, SC and Jim Paul Poole of Uvalda; sisters, Margaret Poole Humphrey of Jacksonville, FL and Martha Poole Rotundo of Uvalda; 8 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral service was held at Charlotte United Methodist Church. Rev. Shareon Womack officiated. Burial followed at Dead River Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Charlotte United Methodist Church.
