Friends may greet the family from 9-11am Tuesday, January 27 at the Brick-Meger Funeral Home. Interment will follow the visitation at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
Bud was born in St. Louis, MO on December 2nd of 1928, the son of Waldo Lee and Loretta (Larkin) Hines. He attended St. Louis University High School and was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in Korea as a company clerk from 1951-53. He received his GED in the Army. He was a resident of St. Louis, MO for 83 years and was a truck driver for Brady and Smith trucking lines. He was a member of Local 600 Teamsters. After retirement he helped his wife run The Glass Turtle. Favorite pastimes included golf and bowling, was an avid reader and loved to sing.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy D.(Schwein) Hines and his two children, Kerry (Janice) Hines of Frankfort, KY , and Kelly (Pete) Kalan of Owatonna, three grandchildren Joseph (Kaitlin) Kalan of Minneapolis, Ryan (Nicole) Kalan of Valencia, CA, and Amy M. Kalan of Owatonna. In addition, he is survived by his sister Mary Virginia (Ginny) Smith of St. Louis, Sister-in-law Pat Hines, and his nephews Jim (Kathy), John, Michael, and Patrick Smith and niece Diane Hines. He was preceded in death by his brothers Daniel (Rose) Hines of Florida and James (Pat) Hines of St. Louis, MO. Memorials preferred to Homestead Hospice.
