AMANDA FAIR BORTNER, widow of the late Amos P. Bortner, died March 30 at the home of her son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Samuel T. Bowman, near Manchester, Md. She was one of our oldest members at St. Jacobs Church, perhaps the oldest, being 88 years, 2 months, and 23 days old at her death. Her last years were years of affliction, due to blindness, and the frailties of old age. She was tenderly cared for by the two daughters, Mrs. Bowman and Mrs. Cyrus Dubs, who with several grandchildren mourn her departure. Short services were held at the home and concluding services in St. Jacobs Church, April 2. Burial followed in the nearby cemetery.
