Derrick Tyler Anderson, 15, of Minden, Nebraska, formerly of Coulter, died on Tuesday, May 29, 2001, at his home in Minden.

Graveside services were held on Saturday, June 2, at the Belmond Cemetery near Belmond, with Pastor C. Lee Gamblin officiating. Interment was in the Belmond Cemetery.

Derrick, the son of Gail and Sherry Peyton Anderson, was born on December 17, 1985, in Iron Mountain, Michigan. The family later moved to the Clarion and Coulter area.

Derrick attended the CAL-Latimer-Dows schools. He and his family had recently moved to Nebraska. Derrick was currently in the 9th grade in the Minden High School. Derrick enjoyed playing baseball.

Derrick is survived by his parents, Gail and Sherry of Minden, Nebraska; two brothers, Jesse and Caleb at home; maternal grandmother, Diane Carlson of Kingsford, Michigan; a maternal grandfather, Jerry Peyton of Minden, Nebraska; paternal grandmother, Jolene Smith of Clarion; maternal great-grandparents, Verla Lundahl of Clarion and Don Olson of Aurora, Wisconsin; uncles, Kyle Anderson of Clarion, Joel Anderson of Kearney, Nebraska; and an aunt, Lisa Peyton of Belmond.
