Bennie Faterkowski, 73, passed away at his home in Chappell Hill Sunday morning, Oct. 26.

Mr. Faterkowski was born Feb. 24, 1930 in Bellville to Bruno and Stella Mazurkiewcz Faterkowski. He was baptized at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and attended Cochran School. He married Margaret Nowak at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church on Nov. 14, 1953. He served with the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. He was retired at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Daniel Faterkowski of Bellville; a daughter, Shirley Sebesta of Rosenburg, Texas; nine grandchildren, Daniel Faterkowski, Jr., Darnell Faterkowski, Douglas Faterkowski, Travis Faterkowski, Brian Sebesta and his finance', Dianne Wendt, and Lisa Pless and her husband, David; two brothers, Bruno Faterkowski, Jr. and Max Faterkowski; three sisters, Helen Pawlowski, Nancy Jozwiak and Hattie Janczak; a brother-in-law, Leonard Nowak and wife, Gertrude; sister-in-law, Pauline Jacobs and husband, Alton; and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind two beloved pets, Pinta and Katie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers, Leon, Adam, Wallace, Stanley, Joe, Steve and Frank Faterkowski and two infant twin brothers.

Rosary was recited Tuesday at Brenham Memorial Chapel led by Deacon Dan Nowak. Funeral Mass was held Wednesday, October 29 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Eugene Shephard presiding. Burial was in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Brian Sebesta, David Pless, Daniel Faterkowski, Jr., Darrell Faterkowski, David Nowak, Raymond Kwiatkowski, Harry Faterkowski and Dale Jozwiak. Honary pallbearers were Lisa Pless, Douglas Faterkowski, Travis Faterkowski and Dianne Wendt.

Memorials may be sent to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Arrangements were under direction of Brenham Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
