Cora L. Shelton, 80, Jonesboro, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 9:18 a.m. on Sunday, February 8, 2015, at Liberty Village in Muncie. She was born in Yancey, NC, to the late Delbert and Debbie (Riddle) Shelton. She loved the Lord and will be dearly missed by her family.

Cora worked in the Food Service area at the Marion VA Hospital. She also volunteered at Marion General Hospital and attended Grace Community Church, where she was very active. She loved to cook and work in her vegetable and flower gardens. She also enjoyed spending time with her dog, Chico.

Survivors include her sister, Jeanette Fugate, Nicholsville, VA, and many nieces and nephews.

Cora was preceded in death by brothers, Junior, Emmit, Lonnie, and Arbia Shelton; and sisters, Gertrude Jenkins, Annalee Tweed, and Emmie Bailey.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.


The Funeral Service will begin at 12 noon with Pastor Mark Hummel officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Gas City.
