Rodney Llyle Brewer, 61, of Cottage Grove, OR passed away on January 16, 2015 from renal cancer. He was born on March 30, 1953 in Centralia, WA to Maynard and Wanda Pierce Brewer.
Rodney graduated from Sheldon High School in 1971 and served in the United States Air Force as an airman working on the minute-man missile. He worked in the food industry and drove truck for over 20 years hauling hazardous materials such as petro-oil and jet fuel.
Rod enjoyed model building, hunting, fishing, NHRA drag racing, camping, and loved sci-fi. He also enjoyed visiting with truck drivers and serving free coffee at the rest area, north of Cottage Grove. He always volunteered for everything at the Moose Post 810 and held the highest position of governor at that post.
He is survived by his son, Jody Lee Brewer, Otis, OR; sister and brother-in-law, Sondra and Steven Benzing, Saratoga, CA; nephew, Daren Scott Johnson, Cottage Grove, OR; niece, Stacey McBride-Benzing, Saratoga, CA; domestic partner, Mary Neeley and 1 grandchild.
