Mary Heaton Janes passed away February 5, 2015 in Farmington, New Mexico, just 13 days before her 92nd birthday. She was born February 18, 1923 in Orderville, Utah to Clarissa Hoyt Heaton and William Carroll Heaton. She married F. F. “Blackie” Janes on June 8, 1946 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He preceded her in death. Mary loved her family first and foremost. She was the epitome of the nursing profession for 62 years. She read every book she could find, and quilted and crocheted until the end. Her spirit and legacy will be missed. Left behind to mourn are her children and grandchildren as listed: son Kevin Patrick Janes (deceased) & wife Debbie of Amarillo, Texas with grandchildren Shawn Janes, Lex Janes, and Shilo Janes; daughter Stacey (Bill) Pollock of Ephraim, Utah with Tori (Brook) Boggess, Crista (Dave) Tovey, Bill D. (Takesha) Pollock, Cecy (Jason) W heeler, Alicia (Brandon) Hanson, Larvin (Ashley) Pollock, Dane (Alexa) Pollock, and Mary (Andrew) Mecham; son Kim (Becky) Janes of Tucson, Arizona with Marcus Janes, Jahanna (James) Emery and Jessina Janes; son Kit (Diane) Janes of Cedar City, Utah with Kade (Maddie) Janes, Rand (Tracy) Janes, Nathan (Candice) Janes, Amanda (Tyler) Prisbrey, and Jeff Janes; daughter Reagan (RB) Barney of Farmington, New Mexico with Kayse (Ashley) Lake, Korney (deceased) Lake (Melissa Medina), Kolt (Katie) Lake, Ryan (Aslyn) Barney, Jeramy Barney, and Jazz Barney; son Keane (Judy) Janes of Pennsylvania with Brock Thompson, Curt Thompson, Sarah (Blaine) Torgenson, Elissa (Skyler) Duckworth, Cory (Kristin) Thompson, and Jennae Thompson; siblings Gwen Adams, Helen Hall, Dale Heaton, Madeline Tait and LuJean Spencer; ninety-nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at the South LDS Church in Kanab, Utah, with burial in the Kanab Cemetery. Arrangements were made with Mosdell Mortuary of Kanab.
