Memorial services for Mr. Troy Odell Payne , age 76 of Jefferson will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday , January 2, 2011 at the New Prospect Baptist Church with the Reverend Mark Markle officiating. Inurnment will follow at Prospect Cemetery under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home of Jefferson. Mr. Payne was born March 18, 1934 in McGee, Missouri to Herman Lee Payne & Dora Peters Payne. He died December 20, 2010 in Jefferson. He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers & six sisters. Mr. Payne was a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church, a Korean war veteran. He enjoyed riding horses, gardening & spending time outdoors. Survivors include: Daughter; Diann Dorgan & husband Steve of Jefferson, step-son; Mike Wood & wife Leslie of Jefferson, brothers; Richard Payne of Virginia Beach, VA, Roger Payne & Sharon of Dexter, MO, grandchildren; Joshua Troy Weatherford & Julie Weatherford Kirk, step-grandchildren; Michael DeWayne Wood, Shane Allen Wood, Rachel Wood Cooner, Crystal Wood Smith, eight great grandchildren & numerous nieces, nephews & friends.
