Willard Lane, age 78 of Chadbourn died Saturday, May 25, 2013 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Lifecare Center in Whiteville.
A memorial service will be held 6:00 p.m. Monday, May 27, 2013 at Worthington Funeral Home with Reverend Ray Best officiating. .
He was a native of Snow Hill and was the son of the late Troy and Hokey Tyndall Lane. He was also preceded in death by five siblings, James Lane, Walter Lane, William Lane, Minnie Mae Beaman and Charles R. Lane. Mr. Lane retired from the NC Marine Fisheries and the NC Forestry Service after 40 years of service.

The family will receive friends 5-6 p.m. Monday (One hour prior) at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn.

Mr. Lane was a Marine Patrol Officer with NC Marine Fisheries and a Forest Law Enforcement Officer with NC Forest Service. He retired from those agencies after 40 years of service.
