"The death of Mrs. Maria M. Campbell Smith widow of the late Dr. Charles H. Smith, took place at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Festus Morgan, at Albany on Friday of last week. Mrs. Smith had been in poor health for several years although her last illness of heart trouble and complications was brief. Mrs. Smith was seventy-five years old and was born in New York City the daughter of the late Robert Pomeroy Campbell. She spent the most of her youth in Cooperstown with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Levi C. Turner. She was married to Dr. Smith of Richmond, Va., in Christ Church, Cooperstown, August 18th, 1856. She leaves many friends in [C]ooperstown who will sincerely mourn her demise. Surviving are her daughter, above mentioned, two sons, Captain Roy Campbell Smith, U. S. N., and Charles Evelyn Smith of Richmond, Va., and one daughter, Mrs. James S. Olmsted of Burlington, N. J. The funeral was held at Christ church, Monday morning, at 11:30 o'clock, the Rev.
