Annette Mallory was born 1 July 1804. She first came to Medina Co., Ohio (source) in 1818 with husband, Elihu Hathaway. Yet another source, gives their wedding date as, 23 February 1820. An oral history given to me, by her gt. granddaughter in 1960, concurs that Annette was 16 years old, when she married. Elihu Hathaway was born 19 Nov. 1796 in New York, and died 12 March 1876,in Milton Twp., Wood Co.,Ohio. This pioneer couple were the parents of 12 children, namely: Phebe, John, Mary, Baldwin, Hiram, Hamner, *James, Lucy, Charles, William, Susan and Elvira. The couple moved from Medina Co.,Ohio to Richland Co., then back to Medina Co. in 1836. In 1838, they came to Lorain Co., Ohio, and by 1860, they lived in Crawford Co., Ohio. Annette Hathaway died in 1865. In 1870, Elihu, a widower, lived with one of his sons. It was son Charles, and several other siblings who lived in Wood Co., Ohio. We have been unable to locate a grave for Elihu.
I descend from this couple through their son, James Hathaway.
