After moving to New Orleans as a newlywed, Mrs. Schroeder was a long time resident of Metairie, LA. She and her husband, Fred, purchased Roberta's Dry Cleaners at 2062 Front Street in Slidell fifty years ago, in 1965. Upon the passing of her husband in 1979, she became the sole proprietor and manager of Roberta's for over 35 years. Later in life, she took up permanent residence in Picayune, MS. There she became a respected member of the St. Barnabus Angelican Church. Mrs. Schroeder worked tirelessly to keep a business running and a scattered family together. Born at the start of the Great Depression, she was the middle child of seven siblings, and was the bond that held together the large extended family. There are brothers, sisters and a multitude of nieces and nephews spread across the country from California to Florida. She was the matriarch of 5 generations. Her children, and her husband's family reside in S.E. LA. An energetic, friendly lady with time for all, she garnered a wide circle of friends. While life was not always perfect, she persevered always doing the best that she could. It is with sadness, and fond memories, that the Schroeder and Cabbell families must say a final goodnight to their loving sister and aunt, mother and gam, Marilyn. We love you.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley V. Cabbell and Mary Ruddell Hite Cabbell; her husband of 33 years, Charles Frederick Schroeder Jr.

Survivors include her children, Charles Fred Schroeder III and wife Molly, Carla Gabler and husband Billy, Tami M. Schroeder and David Joyner, and Kim M. Schroeder; her 6 grandchildren, Amy, Kelly, Beth, Jeffery, Kortney, and Logan; her 7 great grandchildren, Tawny, Brody, Cameron, Bronson, Austill, Ashton, and Fred; her 1 great great granddaughter, Saniya; her 3 sisters, Glenna Johnson, Betty Balencie, and Joyce Patmore; her 2 brothers, Joseph Cabbell and Railton Cabbell; and her 2 sisters-in-law, Muriel Balladares and Manola Westerhouse.

Contributions may be made to the Christian Care Ministries, 321 Williams Avenue, Picayune, MS 39466.
