Dennis M Bauer, 75, of Kenosha, passed away on Wednesday, Aug 6, 2014 at Manor Care.
Born on Oct 10, 1938, in Kenosha, he was the son of the late Max and VIola (Gregory) Bauer. Raised and educated in Kenosha, he was a 1956 graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School.
Dennis honorably served his country as a sharpshooter in the U.S. Army from Aug. 10, 1962, until his honorable discharge on Aug. 10, 1966.
On Aug. 23, 1975, he married the love of his life, Linda Peters. he loved her so much he married her twice. They were united in marriage a second time on Dec. 4, 1998.
Dennis was employed with American Motors Corp. for 30 years, retiring in 1988.
He was a member of the UAW Local #72 retirees. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved working on cars. In his spare time, he looked forward to the time he spent up north with his lifelong friend, Kurt P. Nelson.
Dennis will be deeply missed by his wife, Linda; their daughter, Melissa M (Aaron) Ray; his sister, Patricia Harms; two nephews, James Harms and Edward Bauer; his friend since third grade, Kurt (Jane) Nelson and their four sons, Karl, Erik, Kris and Mike.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert; two sisters, Phyllis and Shirley and a cousin, Roland Gregory.
A service of committal with full military honors will be held on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014 at 1pm at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove.
