Peggy Bradley Manning, 72, of Raleigh, passed away after a brief battle with lung cancer on Friday, February 6, 2015 at Abbotswood at Stonehenge. She was born in Jackson County, NC to the late Walter Sley Bradley and Margaret Belva Ann Messer Bradley. Mrs. Peggy was a Financial Secretary with the Polk County School Board in Polk County, FL for 37 years.

Mrs. Peggy was a devoted wife, mother, nana, sister and friend. She love to spend time with family & friends, travel, crochet and was an avid gardener. She was a lifelong member of Beta Sigma Phi and will be dearly missed.

A celebration of Mrs. Peggy's life will be held at 10 o'clock, Tuesday morning, February 10, 2015 in the Chapel of Bay Leaf Baptist Church, 12200 Bayleaf Church Road, Raleigh, NC 27614.

Mrs. Peggy is survived by her husband, Dr. Charles Manning, Jr. of Raleigh; daughters, Pamela Rigsby & husband Howard of Raleigh, Teresa Orth & husband Joseph of Bartow, FL and Crystal Freeman & husband Lawrence of Bryson City; grandchildren, Kylie & Clay Rigsby both of Raleigh, Justin & Shelby Orth both of Bartow, FL, Amber, Brianna & Christian Bird and Amber Freeman of all of Bryson City; sisters, Frankie Purvis of Whittier, Belva Ham & husband Bill of Whittier and Nancy Bell & husband James of Balsam; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Junior William "J.W." Rodgers; sister, Thelma Buchanan; brothers, Glen, Vincent, Gerald, Earl and Joe Bradley.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock, Thursday afternoon, February 12, 2015 in the Chapel of Melton Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow in the Wilmot Community Cemetery.
