Mr. Green was a Army veteran having served in the Vietnam Conflict, a mechanic having worked for Sony Music and a member of Bethesda Baptist Church.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, William Ira Green. Survivors include his wife Rudene Green of Roopville; his children and their spouses, Alice Green , Mike Green both of Carrollton, J.J. & Faye Gentry of Waco, Ga., and Edwin Tate Ivey and Meredith Williams both of Mt. Zion, Ga.; two sisters and a brother in-law, Susie Hayes of Brownsville, TN., and Roberta & Bob Barton of Linton, Indiana; two brothers and a sister in-law, Charles Green of Highland Park, Indiana and Arnold and Raylene Green of Portage, Indiana; a sister in-law, JoAnn Green of Macon, Ga.; also two grand children.
The family received friends at the funeral home Saturday November 4 and Sunday, November 5 from 4 until 8 PM.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, November 6, 2006 at 11 AM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Fred Cooke and Rev. Carlton Rivers officiating. Pallbearers were Justin Terry, Kyle Cohran, Marty Reddin, Eddie Eidson, Jim Sivertson, J.W. Sanders, Dale Huckeba, and Tim Barnes. Interment followed in West Georgia Memorial Park. The American Legion Post #143 folded and presented the flag.
Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel has charge of the arrangements.
