Laura D. Cooper, 43, of Quarryville, died Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Hershey Medical Center due to injuries sustained in an auto accident on January 24.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Daniel R. and Judith (Shepherd) Mitchell of Morgantown.

Laura enjoyed her work with adults with developmental disabilities at Excentia in Lancaster and at Kaleidoscope Family Solutions in Bryn Mawr. She previously worked for Cooper Auction Company as office manager.

She attended Living Stones Fellowship in Peach Bottom and enjoyed music, singing, and karaoke.

Laura has four children, Elizabeth Campbell of Lebanon, Michael and Alicia Gornee of Downingtown, and Emily Rottman of Honey Brook. She also had one grandson, Evan. She has three brothers, Doug Arndt, Todd Mitchell and David Mitchell and sister Christie Mentzer; biological siblings, Jimmy Weister, Michael Weister, Tony Powers, Theresa Weller, Dar Demko, Dennis Weister, Sam Weister, and Pete Sands.

Laura’s funeral will be held Sunday, February 15 beginning with a viewing at 2 pm, followed by a service at 3 pm at Morgantown Community Church, 4221 Main St., Elverson, with Bill Wright, Jr. officiating. Interment will be at the Churchtown United Methodist Church Cemetery on Monday at 2 pm. If desired, memorials may be made to Excentia: Out and About Program, 1810 Rohrerstown Road, Lancaster, PA 17601.
