Alta May Bright, 79, the daughter of Clarence E. and Doris M. (Walston) Ogden was born April 14, 1934 at Tabor, Iowa. She passed away on Friday, January 10, 2014 at the Shenandoah Memorial Hospital, Shenandoah, Iowa at the age of 79 years, 8 months and 27 days.
Alta was raised in the Sidney and Tabor, Iowa areas. She graduated from Sidney High School in 1952. Alta was united in marriage to Leroy G. Bright on May 17, 1954 in Sidney, Iowa. They made their home in Shenandoah and Alta worked at the Shenandoah Hospital as a nurse aide. They then moved to Sidney and Alta worked for the Malvern Nursing Home. In 1971, they moved to Red Oak and to Essex in l977. Following the death of Leroy in 1988, Alta moved back to Red Oak where over the years she worked for the Good Samaritan Center, Vista Gardens Care Center and later at CDS. She returned to Shenandoah in 2005. Alta enjoyed reading and watching cooking shows.
