John Benjaman "Benny" Elam, 80 of the Caledonia Community passed away from this life on Saturday, February 7, 2015, at his home.

He was born February 18, 1934 in Memphis, TN, to the union of Earnest H. Elam and Weiler May Pitts Elam. He retired from Texas Eastern Pipeline Corp. Benny served 8 years in the United States Marine Corp. He and his wife enjoyed dancing and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Glenda D. Elam, and an infant son, Benny Michael Elam.

He is survived by his two sons; Robert Dennis Elam and wife Nita, of Sherrills Ford, NC, and Gregory S. Elam and wife Lisa, three granddaughters; Meredith, Madalyn, and Megan Elam all of Crossett, AR.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2015 in the Chapel of Bailey Funeral Home, El Dorado, with Rev. Larry Richmond and Rev. Robert Lyons officiating. Interment will be in the Olive Branch Cemetery, under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, El Dorado.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 10, 2015, 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at the Bailey Funeral Home, El Dorado, AR.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Jude's Childrens Research or Life Touch Hospice in El Dorado, AR.
