LESLIE RAY LESTER, 64 years of age of Big Rock, VA, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015 at his home following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Roy Lester and Eliza Jane Skeens Lester Meadows. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was of the Baptist Faith. Ray served our country proudly in the United States Army. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and was a disabled Coal Miner.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 42-Years, Truby St. Clair Lester, Big Rock, VA; 2-Daughters: Tonya (Todd) Dawson, Bristol, VA, Stephanie (Denny) Keen Jr., Bristol, VA; 3-Grandchildren: Ashley Elizabeth Dawson, Joshua Adam Dawson and Bradley Allen Keen, all of Bristol, VA; Mother-in-Law: Opal St. Clair, Home Creek, VA; 1-Sister: Deborah Ann Lester, Four Oaks, NC; 3-Brothers: Jerry (Sue) Lester, Big Rock, VA, Mike (Shelia) Lester, Big Rock, VA, Leonard Lester, Kentucky; several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Services for LESLIE RAY LESTER will be conducted Monday, February 9, 2015 at 7:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Raymond Lester officiating with a special message by his grandchildren: Ashley and Joshua Dawson. Entombment to follow Tuesday, February 10, 2015 in the Mountain View Cemetery, Bristol, VA, with Pastor Les Ketron of Central Baptist Church, Abingdon, VA, officiating.

Full Military Rites will be conducted by Childs-Gentry Post No. 7360 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 11:00 A.M.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Monday evening at 6:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Mike Lester, Jerry Lester, Todd Dawson, Joshua Dawson, Denny Keen Jr. and Bradley Keen.

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to the Disabled American Veterans, 3025 Louisa Road, Keswick, VA 22947, or Central Baptist Church Youth Group, 24461 Mock Knob Road, Abingdon, VA, 24211 in Memory of Ray Lester.
