Christian N. Stauffer, 78, of 2225 State St., East Petersburg, died of natural causes Friday in Lancaster General Hospital's emergency room.
Stauffer retired in 1985 after 30 years at Armstrong World Industries.
A U. S. Army veteran, he was a member of Lancaster Brethren in Christ Church, where he was a deacon, trustee and Sunday school teacher.
Stauffer enjoyed hunting and gardening.
Born in Lancaster County, he was the son of the late Harrison G. and Bertha Eberly Stauffer.
His wife, Blanche Ruhl Stauffer, died in 2000.
Surviving are four sons, Christian N. Jr., married to Pamela J. Stauffer of Manheim, the Rev. James R., married to Jane Z. Stauffer of Hagerstown, Md., Larry T. of York and William L. of East Petersburg; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Melvin of Michigan, Clair of Florida and Wilburt of Lititz; and a sister, Verna Stauffer of Elizabethtown.
He was preceded in death by six brothers, Kervin, Lloyd, Maurice, Harry, Marvin and Roy; and two sisters, Anna Mae Sherman and Florence Frey.
