Roy G. Sigur passed away on his 64th wedding anniversary, Thursday, February 5, 2015, age 85.
Beloved husband of Thelma Boyd Sigur. Father of Hon. Michael G. Sigur (JoAnn), Melanie Sigur Vaccaro (Phil), Michele Sigur (Mike Price) and Melicent Sigur Tumbagahan (Steven). Brother of Frances Sigur Richardson, Dolores Sigur Fortenberry, Gustave Adolphe Sigur (Sylvia) and the late Norma Sigur Clark, and Dorothy Sigur Barbier. Grandfather of Scott Sigur, Sr. Philip Vaccaro, Melissa Vaccaro, Brandy Klingman, Candice Pecue, Michael Price, Rebekah Cruice, Kaylie Krieger Gibbs, Donovan Krieger, Heather Tumbagahan and Colby Tumbagahan. Also survived by twelve great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Sigur was an electrician by trade, an employee of Avondale Shipyard, the City of Kenner and co-owner of M Electrical. He was a volunteer at East Jefferson General Hospital for over 20 years, former president of AARP Chapter at East Jefferson General Hospital and a regular attendee at East Jefferson Parish Council on Aging Senior Citizens Center (The Pink House).
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 12:00 pm.
Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park and Mausoleum.
