Son of Comfort and Betsy (Sikes) Lane, and brother of Samuel Alanson Lane, Akron historian. Henry died just two months after his marriage to Sarah Hovey.

DIED - In this village, on the 20th inst. Henry L. Lane, formerly from Suffield Co., aged 29 years.
Aged 29 yrs, 7 mos, 12 days. Cause of death: billous fever.
