Eunice J. Barnes, age 82, of 5912 Nagle Road, Valders, Wisconsin, entered eternal life after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers, Wisconsin.

Eunice was born on December 31, 1932 at Two Rivers, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Evelyn Zimmer Klein. Eunice was a graduate of Washington High School in Two Rivers with the class of 1950. Throughout her life, Eunice was actively involved with the local horse community and was the General Leader of the Triple D 4-H Club in Manitowoc where she started the Triple D 4-H Horse and Pony project. Eunice and her late husband Wally were well known for many years for their country music which they played together throughout the area. She was also an active member of the Rim Rock Ridges Horse Club of Valders. Eunice was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in the town of Liberty and also a member of the Ladies Aid of the church. On April 28, 1951 she married Walter A. Barnes in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on August 2, 2002.

She is survived by two children: Gary Barnes and his fiance' Amy Olson, Valders, WI; Kay (Gary) Waskow, Manitowoc, WI; five grandchildren: Nathan Barnes, Travis Barnes, Brad Barnes, Tara Campbell, and Nicholas Hibbard; six great grandchildren: Katrina Barnes, Brandon Barnes, Deanna Campbell, Amanda Barnes, Dekland Barnes, and Alyssa Barnes; three brothers: Cyril (Beatrice) Klein, Two Rivers, WI; Darwin (Hildegard) Klein, Manitowoc, WI; Donald (Ruth) Klein, Two Rives, WI; one sister: Gladys Sand, Mishicot, WI; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Nicholas and Evelyn Klein; husband: Walter A. Barnes; daughter: Brenda L. Miller; grandson: John Andrew Barnes; three brothers: Aaron, Loren, and Glen Klein.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 11303 Wehausen Road, Manitowoc. Officiating will be Rev. Gregory Pope with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc, WI. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and then at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the Doctor's and staff that gave such good care to Eunice at the Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center and the Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers. Also special thanks is conveyed to the Aurora Visiting Nurses Association for all of their care.
