The Marion Register Wednesday April 7, 1897
The infant daughter of Robert J. Arrasmith and Bessie Rees Arrasmith of Louisa was buried on Saturday last. For two weeks little Gladys Hope was ill with pneumonia and brain fever, and though a brave fight was made for her life it closed April 2d, 1897. Love and skill did not avail. Her little life was brief only from Sept. 2d, 1896, but long enough to entwine itself about many hearts. The funeral sevice washeld in the church at Shiloh, conducted by Rev. J.G. VanNess. The dear ones turned away from the tiny grave in the cemetery near with the sweet true hope that their household bud would beautifully blossom in the garden of God.
