Mrs. F. Paxton dies in Ft Worth

Mrs. Florence B Paxton, 95, a resident of the Cumberland Home for the Elderly, Fort Worth, for the past 20 years, died Thursday Sept 5 in Stanford Nursing Home, Fort Worth, where she had been a patient for three weeks.

The former Florence B Wood, she was born Jan 10, 1872 in Austin, the daughter of Robert Wood and Emma Rogan Wood. She was reared by James Franklin Brown after the age of one year. Her husband, Frank Paxton, died in 1947.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Eastern Star.

Survivors include two sister, Jane and Flora Brown both of Ft. Worth and a brother Hordwood Brown of Roswell, N.M.; two nephews, David and Guy Brown and a niece Mrs. Kathryn Bemrick, all of Fort Worth. Also a nephew, James F. Gray, Cherokee and a step-daughter Mrs. Della Paxton Jones.

Funeral rites were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, in Howell-Doran Chapel, conducted by John Brawley of Fort Worth and Lynn Simpson, pastor of First Presbyterian Church here.

Under the direction of Howell-Doran Funeral Home, burial was in City Cemetery.
