Billie Marie Sweat
February 6, 1924 - January 21, 2015
Billie M. Sweat entered into rest in Fredericksburg, Texas at the age of 90 on January 21, 2015. Billie lived most of her life in San Antonio, Texas. She was born February 6, 1924 in Tampa, Florida to J. Marvin Sweat and Mary Agnes Burnett.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents and sister Bobbie J. White she is survived by brother in law Don E. White Sr. and three nephews Don White Jr. (Orbra), Dennis White (Mae) and James White (Susie) along with numerous cousins, grand and great grand nieces and nephews.
Billie graduated from Florida State University with a B.S. degree. She spent 10 years active service during WWII and the Korean conflict and retired from the reserves as a Lt. Commander in the United States Navy. Billie later obtained a Master's degree in Education from Trinity University and was employed as a teacher and counselor in the North East Independent School District. After retirement from N.E.I.S.D, Billie enjoyed traveling and pursuing her hobbies of oil painting, genealogy research and bridge.
Funeral Services will take place at Sunset Funeral Home Saturday January 24, 2015 at 2:00pm.
