Elizabeth Dietzen Appleton, 94 of Chattanooga, TN, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2015.

Elizabeth was a founding member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church , member of Ladies of Charity and volunteered at Memorial Hospital. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. Elizabeth was a graduate of Notre Dame High School.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents Mary and Leonard Dietzen; daughter Mary Appleton Lavender; granddaughter Cassidy Moore; seven sisters and one brother

Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 74 years George Appleton; daughters Patricia Appleton, Beth Hulbert and Kathy Moore all of Chattanooga TN; son-in-law Neal ( Jo Anne) Lavender of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren Sarah Hulbert ( Patrick) Chubb of Biloxi, MS, Kristin Lavender ( Jeff) Price of Brentwood, TN, Chris Hulbert of Fort Smith, AR, Laurie Lavender ( Todd) Landon of Franklin, TN, Michael Moore of Chattanooga, TN; seven great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 8, 2015 from 4:30-6:30 at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 am on Monday, February 9 at St. Jude Catholic Church with Father Charlie Burton officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens

Pallbearers are Neal Lavender, Michael Moore, Bob Moore, Jeff Price, Todd Landon , Patrick Chubb and Chris Hulbert

In Lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be made in Elizabeth's name to Hospice of Chattanooga, 4411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37416

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
