Betty Eloise Adams “Dink” Riley, 91, of Morehead City, died Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at Crystal Coast Hospice House.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 6, 2015, at Pineview Cemetery, Rocky Mount, with a pastor of Englewood Baptist Church, Rev. Frank Duncan, presiding. A reception will follow at the Englewood Baptist Church.
Mrs. Riley was born Sept 4, 1923 in Rocky Mount to Rufus and Betty Adams. Dink was a homemaker and part-time bookkeeper but is best remembered for her humor and the hundreds of afghan baby blankets and premature baby bonnets she made for children everywhere.
She is survived by her two sons, David E. Riley, III and wife, Beverly, of Raleigh, John D. Riley and wife, Terri, of Morehead City; four grandchildren, Jay Riley and wife, Holly, of Sanford, LTJG Kevin Riley and wife, Heather, of Elizabeth City, Kristi Michels and husband, Lance, of Chapel Hill, Jackson Riley of Hampton,VA; six great-grandchildren, Cooper Riley, Keelyn Riley, Caroline Riley, Anabel Riley, Grace Ann Riley, and Samuel Riley.
In addition to her parents, her husband, David Edward Riley, Jr., preceded her in death.
