Ruby Bennett, age 92 of Calhoun, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at her residence.
Ruby was born on August 15, 1922 in Gordon County to the late Henry West and Lula Mealer West. Ruby was a former resident of Marietta and a consultant for Merle Norman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mell Rayble Bennett; daughter, Joanne Dillard; and two brothers, Max West and Ralph West.
She is survived by son, Mike Bennett; daughters, Nancy Batson and Melva Cozby; three brothers, C.A., Billy and Henry “Jr.” West, Jr.; four sisters, Pat Bradford, Frances Christian, Sue Gentry and Martha Craig; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.
Funeral Services were conducted on Friday, February 6th at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Gary Hibberts. Interment followed in Fain Cemetery.
The family received friends on Friday from 11AM – 2PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
