FREITAS, HERMINIA S. died Sunday, Dec. 20 at age 79. She was a resident of Fortuna.
She was a native of the Azores and a resident of Ferndale since 1910, residing with her daughter in Fortuna for the past five years.
She was a member of the Assumption Catholic Church of Ferndale, the S.P.R.S.I and the U.P.P.E.C. Lodges.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Freitas.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Joe (Vevalena) Luis, Fortuna; two sons, Albert Freitas, Ukiah, and Frank Freitas, Eugene, Ore.; grandchildren Allen Luis, Gary Luis, Jerry and Michael Freitas, Bonnie Luis, Sonjia Holmes, Wayne and Steve Freitas; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Chapel of the Ferns, Citizens Mortuary, Ferndale, this evening from 7-9 P.M.; and Tuesday from 9 A.M.- 9 P.M.
Friends are invited to attend Scripture Blessing Services at the chapel Tuesday at 8 P.M.
Friends may assemble at the chapel Wednesday at 9:30 A.M., thence to Assumption Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. with the Rev. Father Thomas Devereaux celebrant.
Concluding services at St. Mary's Cemetery, Ferndale.
