She was a 1963 graduate of Firelands High School and received her RN degree from Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing in Ashland. She worked at several area hospitals and nursing homes, most recently at Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Thomas A. Rice; her son, Thomas W. (Ashley) Rice of Oberlin; three grandchildren, Jonathan, Joshua, and Abigail Rice; a sister, Beverly (Edgar) Pearce of Amherst; niece, Stacia Kendeigh; nephew, Matthew Kendeigh and great-nieces and great- nephews, Kaleb, Lauryn, Logan, and Brantley
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyndon and Elizabeth (Mikloda) Geist.
Friends may call Sunday, February 8, from 2 until 5 P.M., at the Morman Funeral Home, Wakeman. Services will be held Monday, February 9, 11 A.M., at the St. John's UCC, South Amherst. Burial will follow at Westwood Cemetery in Oberlin.
