Clara Hermine Zobel, daughter of Oscar Ewald Herman Zobel and Pauline E Kahl, married Sylvester Clay Baker, son of Robert Adams Baker and Susan White Graham. No children were listed on census records with them.

Mrs. S. Clay Baker, the former Clara Zobel, 85, of 603 Watson St. Ripon, died Sunday at the Ripon Memorial Hospital after an illness of four days.Born Aug. 27, 1885, she was the daughter of O. E. H. and Pauline Kahl Zobel. She attended Ripon High School, studied several branches of music and attended the Ripon College School of Music.Mrs. Baker is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Erna Z. Luetscher and Miss Lillian Zobel, both of Ripon.She was preceded in death by two brothers, Edgar and Otto Zobel and a sister, Mrs. H. F. Hancox, and her husband within the last two years.Mrs. Baker and her husband spent most of their time at St. Louis, Mo., but spent the last 15 years during the summer at their summer home on Inlet Road at Green Lake.Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Speier Funeral Home, Ripon, with the Rev. E. Schieler officiating. Burial will be in the Baker family plot in the Montgomery City Cemetery at Montgomery City, Mo.Friends may call Tuesday afternoon until the time of services at the funeral home.
