ORRVILLE - Joseph L. Brinson, 89, of Orrville, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2005, at Smithville-Western Care Center in Wooster.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Sherwood Chapel, Wooster, with the Rev. Thomas Ledford officiating. Entombment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster, where military rites will be held.

Friends may call today (Sunday) from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home. Masonic services will be held at 2 p.m.

Joseph was born Aug. 26, 1915, in Vevay, Ind., to Herbert and Eva (Bosaw) Brinson. He married Falba Romans on Oct. 21, 1935, She died Sept. 1, 2002.

Joseph served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and then worked as a welder in Orlando, Fla. and Tucson, Ariz., retiring in 1979.

Joseph enjoyed fishing, gardening, animals (especially dogs) and playing guitar.

Love was focused on his Lord, his wife, and his family.

He was a member of Rittman Christian Church where he served as a deacon and door greeter. Joseph was also a member of Garfield Masonic Lodge No. 528 in Shreve.

Surviving are his daughter, Rita (Ray) Stephens of Orrville; grandchildren, Tim (Laura) Stephens and Lori Stephens, all of Orrville, Cheryl (Steve) Fulton of Taylorsville, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Raymond and Kenneth Stephens, and Cole and Christopher Fulton.

Although he had no brothers and sisters, he leaves dear sisters-in-law, Nadine (Alfred) Furnish, Stella Bennett, Geneva Romans, Bessie Scudder and Edith Kelly, all of Indiana.

Joseph is preceded in death by his wife, Falba, sons, Herbert Wesley and Roy Lee Brinson and an infant sister.
